Here's some remaining parts of a Merkava Mk4 Barak, Israel's most advanced tank to date.
It is rather heavily implied that she was destroyed by Hezbollah's massive IED.
That may be so. However note how it's presented as if it is only possible to destroy it using a truly "super" massive IED and then with a lot of luck.
First confirmed Merkava MK4 loss. This Merkava happens to be the brand new variant, the MK4 Barak. It was hit by a super massive IED & only the driver survived. There comes a point where no tank can survive a certain amount of explosives.
But, of course, experts such are ourselves, even if self-styled, should know better by now and see a "myth of invincibility" when we come across it.
Such mythical claims are made by the principal operators and manufacturers of the assets in question in order to falsely paint them as "invincible", "superior", "unassailable", "impervious to attacks", and what not, solely to discourage attacks on them and consequently to prevent the opposition from discovering how easy it is to actually knock them out en mass and that there is always a way to destroy them, with creative cost-effective approaches often producing devastating results.
In reality, this Merkava won't survive fifteen minutes anywhere near a war zone in Russia, for example.
We don't see anything in these pictures that would even remotely suggest invincibility or superior protection
In fact, this looks like some primitive armor shoddily put together from junk yard sheet metal
