For context, U.S. forces operate illegally in Syria, without any mandate from, and uninvited by, anyone, and are forces of occupation so any act of violence perpetrated by them in Syria, whatever the immediate justification or the lies they give out in their bogus press releases, is by definition a war crime and a breach of the rules of war.
