Per Russian MoD, May 9, 2022, this may have been ongoing on or around Snake (Zmeinyi) Island recently.
On May 7, on direct orders of US and British military planners embedded with the Ukrainian General Staff relayed by puppet President Zelensky, a major attempt to seize Snake Island was executed. It was planned to capture the island by May 9 and show footage of control over the island on May 9, Russia's V-Day over Nazi Europe anniversary.
During a period of the past two days the Kiev regime made several desperate attempts to land air and sea assault forces on Snake Island which is important for ensuring control over the north-western part of the Black Sea.
As a result of competent actions by the Russian Armed Forces unit on the island, the Ukrainian provocation was thwarted. The enemy suffered heavy losses.
Four Ukrainian manned fixed-wing aircraft, including three Su-24 bombers and one Su-27 fighter plane, three Mi-8 helicopters with landing parties on board and one Mi-24 helicopter were shot down in the air while the attacks near Snake Island were being repelled. Within two days, 29 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down in the air, including eight Bayraktar TB-2 strike drones. Meanwhile, four Bayraktar drones were shot down this afternoon alone.
Also, three Project 58181 Centaur armored Ukrainian amphibious assault boats carrying Ukrainian Navy personnel were destroyed during an attempted landing on the night of May 8.
As a result of the US and British advisers and Zelensky's thoughtless and incompetent provocation, more than 50 Ukrainian crack troops were further destroyed at sea and on the coast during the landing and the attempt to secure themselves on the island alone. Twenty-four bodies of dead Ukrainian servicemen are still on the shore of Snake Island.

So evidence points to these being not just Ukrainian special forces but more likely Western (Brit or Yank) PMCs or NATO military, if so, likely British SAS
