Battle of Snake Island Intel From Ghirkin and Others (UPD2)

We already reported on the unqualified disaster that the British planned and Ukrainian executed operation "Seize the Snake (Island)" turned out to be.

Here is more intel on the ill-fated British sponsored op from Ghirkin himself, formerly Supreme Commander, L/DPR People's Militias.

[...] apparently, the command of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and the Russian troops on the island managed to catch the enemy off-guard during their own attempt to re-occupy the island (important primarily from a propaganda point of view).

According to the available data, the landing operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) completely failed with heavy losses.

According to various sources, the AFU lost one Su-27, one to three Su-24 attack aircraft, one to three Mi-8 or Mi-14 transport and one Mi-24 attack helicopter, two to four Bayraktar TB2 drones and several amphibious assault boats.

In the course of related combat operations, several batteries of the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces were also hit, one battery was completely destroyed, and up to 8 Ukrainian Pechora air defense systems were impacted on and put out of action.

The total losses of the Ukrainians amounted to 78 people officially killed and several dozen more "missing in action".

There is unverified information that a significant proportion of the dead and "missing" (i.e. drowned), as yet unaccounted for, are unidentified foreign PMCs or even British special forces, possibly SAS commandos.

Curiouser and curioser...

Here is another version from other sources:

According to available information, including information from the Ukrainian General Staff, the operation on Snake Island was prepared on Zelensky's personal orders and with the involvement of Western advisers. In principle, the participation of the AFU General Staff was nominal, everything was decided by foreigners. Moreover, it is alleged that two high-ranking officers from the USA and Britain, who participated in the first wave of the landing, supervised the operation itself. At least, that is what the sources say.

The goal of the operation was to capture the island with the subsequent unblocking of Odessa, in order to export the Ukrainian wheat stocks from there. This is indirectly confirmed by the recent visit to Odessa of Charles Michel, head of the European Council, who is an active advocate of grain supplies to Europe. Zelensky himself and his team have a kickback of up to 40% from the sale of wheat, so they are also in favor of unblocking it.

According to unverified information, American and British officers disappeared during the first landing attempted on Snake Island and they have not been found yet. Subsequent attacks and have been conducted to find their bodies at least. It has been suggested that both NATO officers could have simply been taken prisoner by Russian troops. But, once again, this information is not verified, although it is quite plausible and explains the subsequent frenzied and suicidal attacks by AFUs on the island which made little sense otherwise.

As previously reported, starting on May 7, the AFU lost on Snake Island 4 aircraft of the AFU Air Force, 4 helicopters, of which three with paratroopers on board, three Centaur amphibious assault boats with sea-borne troops on board. 30 drones, including nine Bayraktar TB2 strike drones. There are 27 bodies of Ukrainian paratroopers still languishing on the island itself

What is certain at this point in time is that the island remains under Russian control.

UPD2

This story has still got some legs.

It is reported that the Ukrainian landing force which tried to land on Snake Island, included a lieutenant colonel of the US Marine Corps and a major of the British commandos. Their further fate is unknown.

UPD3

Footage reportedly of destroyed Nato proxies on the island, either Ukrainian or more likely foreign

Stills from video with bodies of destroyed NATO (proxy) commandos

AR rifle magazine

Talamex life belt

So, per evidence, could well be Western PMCs or NATO military, likely British
