As our military expert general Sokolowski (retired) explains the IDF as a military force is basically a victim of its own mythology. For far too long they had been resting on their past successes without realising that those successes were basically the result of a convergence of circumstances and not the result of any particular ability or prowess or courage or skills on the part of the IDF. The past successes of the IDF are all basically a fluke and are no indication of anything that is happening now or might happen in the future in the current campaign or in future campaigns assuming the IDF, or the State of Israel itself, survives to fight them.
