B52 Bomber Shot Down with Kalashnikov

 History lesson time. 

Here is an account of how at least once a US B-52 Stratofortress bomber was knocked down with nothing but a Kalashnikov rifle.

 It happened during a bombing raid in the mountains which had the effect of making the B-52s much lower relative to the shootist’s position and in range of the Kalashnikov rifle fire.

And a reminder one should remember that lots of B-52s were shot down during the war in Vietnam over 15 in fact and five in one day on a particular successful day for NVA air defense.
